HEALING TIME
Primary healing takes about a week. After this time swelling
and discomfort are gone and you can talk and eat properly.
Full healing takes about 4 to 6 weeks. ALL ORAL
CONTACT SHOULD BE AVOIDED FOR THE FIRST
TWO WEEKS. The first two weeks, rinse your' mouth with
original (never mint) Listerine or with a sea salt solution. ( 1
tsp. Salt per 8 oz. of water) after
everything you put in your mouth. If you get a weird
coating on your tongue or really bad breath, try diluting the
listerine, for the next two weeks, rinse your mouth with the
diluted solution 3 to 4 times a day.
ADVICE - To reduce swelling, suck on ice cubes and drink
lots of cold water. Taking a painkiller like aspirin or
ibuprofen may also help. The healing may be
difficult for a couple of days. This disappears quickly. DO
NOT remove your' barbell unless absolutely necessary,
Because you WILL NOT get it back in. To avoid yelling
and yawning. DO NOT touch your piercing unless your
hands are very clean. DO NOT ever let anyone else touch it
other than your piercer,
NEVER use alcohol, Peroxide, Betadine, Polysporin orother
ointments on your piercing. AM I GOING TO EAT???????
